Vijay Mallya to finally be extradited?


Liquor Baron Vijay Mallya is one step closer to being finally extradited back to India as Home Secretary of the UK, Sajid Javid has approved his extradition. Mallya however, will exercise his right of appeal within 14 days. Union Tourism Minister KJ Alphons has said at an India Youth Summit by ASEAN that revenue generated by tourism in India grew 19.4% over last year to reach 234 billion $ in 2018, while global growth is just 5%. He also went on to state the importance and break up of tourism in the country. Shares of DHFL have been taken to the cleaners in the last 6 months due to liquidity crisis, Cobra post expose and credit rating downgrade. Chairman & MD Kapil Wadhawan has made an effort to explain the situation via an analysts’ call which has arrested the fall in shares in the last 2 trading sessions. Property prices in London and neighbouring cities have been falling due to Brexit uncertainties and squeeze on household budgets. Wealthy Indians are taking advantage of this situation and there has been an increase of 15 to 20% Indians buying property in the UK.
