BENGALURU: Going against the traditional lines of preparing leadership-driven manifestos, BJP has decided to experiment with a crowdsourcing effort in preparing its manifesto for the Karnataka election. BJP’s thought behind this Constituency-wise manifesto is to provide a local flavour.
Around 227 manifestos will be prepared covering all the 224 constituencies of the Karnataka assembly. Another larger and broad-based manifesto at the state level will be released by the BJP.
The Karnataka BJP has claimed that it has incorporated around 80,000 ideas given by various individuals across the state. Along with “feasible” ideas of the 1.1 lakh responses they received from social media platforms.
Around 65 professionals have been appointed by the BJP to work on preparing the manifesto on a full-time basis. Amresh K, state convener for the BJP IT cell said “Each of these ideas has been vetted and sent to the central leadership for consent. The BJP manifesto has been prepared by working professionals.”
With just 20 days remaining from the election day, each political party in the state is trying to connect with every single voter through such innovative ideas.
The Karnataka assembly election will be held in on May 12, 2018, in all 224 constituencies of the Legislative Assembly. The counting of votes and announcement of result will take place on May 15, 2018.
