After BSP, Samajwadi Party aslo extend support to Congress in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal | After Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) extended its support to the Congress party in forming the government in Madhya Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party also announced that it will support the Congress.

Announcing the support, Samajwadi Party’s chief Akhilesh Yadav tweeted that the party will support Congress in forming the government in Madhya Pradesh.

Earlier both the party contested together in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh assembly election but failed to mark in impression and lost drastically to the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). The support from both BSP and Samajwadi Party has also fueled speculation of a united front against the Narendra Modi led BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha election in Uttar Pradesh which holds 80 seats of the lower house.

The support comes crucial for the Congress party as it got 114 seats falling short with just 2 seats in the 230 seat Madhya Pradesh Assembly. BSP who contested independently succeeded in winning 2 seats in Madhya Pradesh Assembly election
