State Government Too Interested In Instigating The Strike: Gopichand Padalkar

Mumbai: BJP leader Gopichand Padalkar said it seems that the government instead of solving the issue of state transport employees’ strike, has hatched a well-planned conspiracy to ensure that it drags indefinitely.

ST workers have been on strike in the state for more than three months now, leaving ordinary commuters to suffer. It was also decided that the demands of the staff would be met to some extent by the state government mediating and announcing pay hikes and salary fixation for the ST employees.

MLA Gopichand Padalkar has accused the state government of being too interested in instigating the strike.

“The government is hatching a well-planned conspiracy to increase the ST strike rather than ending it,” he said.

“While on one hand, they are appealing to the employees to resume work, on the other hand, they are charge-sheeted the moment they do so. The employees who have resumed duty have got notices which claim that losses to the tunes of Rs 2 crore have been incurred. The committee has already submitted a report regarding the merger of ST employees. However, the government still is seeking at least a week to take a call,” he said.
