15 killed in fire in Surat, victims jump to save lives from top floor

Surat | A massive fire broke out at a commercial complex in Surat, killing 15 people.

Astonishing visuals have arrived that shows the fire has already damaged the top floor of the building and trapped people can be seen jumping from the fire to save their own life.

As per ANI, 18 fire tenders are at the spot.

The sources have said that the toll can go up. The initial investigation has said that a short circuit caused the fire.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his sorrow on the attack and asked local authorities to carry out appropriate actions.

“Extremely anguished by the fire tragedy in Surat. My thoughts are with bereaved families. May the injured recover quickly. Have asked the Gujarat Government and local authorities to provide all possible assistance to those affected”, he tweeted.
