PM Modi At Jhansi Handed Over LCH To Indian Air Force

Jhansi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over indigenously developed light combat helicopter (LCH) to the Indian Air Force in Jhansi on Friday. The light combat helicopter incorporates advanced technologies and stealth features for effective combat roles.

He will also lay the foundation stone for the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor project.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday formally handed over Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’s Light Combat Helicopter to the Indian Air Force in Jhansi. He has also officially handed over DRDO- designed and BEL-manufactured Advanced Electronic Warfare suite for naval ships to the Indian Navy, and drones/UAVs developed by Indian start-ups to the Indian Army as well.

Speaking at the event in Jhansi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh assured the country that India will achieve the target of ‘Make in India’ defence equipment, set by PM Modi, by 2024. “I want to assure the country that the day will come soon when 90% equipment of the country’s defence requirements will be Made in India,” he said.

Speaking about the birth anniversary of Rani Laxmi Bai Modi said, “Today is the birth anniversary of our queen Laxmibai ji, the culmination of valor and might! Today, this land of Jhansi is witnessing the grand festival of freedom! Today, a new strong and powerful India is taking shape on this earth.”

Praising Major Dhyan Chand ji Narendra Modi informed about renaming  Khel Ratna Award after Major’s name. He said “Today I would like to remember another son of Jhansi, Major Dhyan Chand ji who gave India global recognition in the world of sports. Our government has put in a proposal to rename the country’s Khel Ratna Award after Major Dhyan Chand.”

Government has announced admission of girls as well in Sainaik School

Addressing at Jhansi, PM Modi announced that now even girls can seek admission in Sainik schools and take inspiration from India’s warrior women like Rani Laxmi bai, and do their part for national security.

“Today, on one hand, the strength of our forces is increasing, but at the same time, ground is also being prepared for the capable youth to protect the country in future. These 100 Sainik Schools which will be started will work in the coming times to give the future of the country in powerful hands. Our government has started the admission of daughters in Sainik Schools. In 33 Sainik Schools, the admission of girl students has also started from this session. Daughters like Rani Laxmi bai will also emerge from Sainik Schools, who will take the responsibility of defence, security, development of the country on their shoulders,” PM Modi said.
