NDA saved 17.08 percent more money in Rafale deal compared to UPA: CAG report

New Delhi | The Union government today tabled the awaited CAG report in the Rajya Sabha on the controversial Indo-France Rafale deal which stated that the Narendra Modi led NDA government managed to save 17.08 percent more money for India specific enhacement in the 36 Rafale fighter jet contract compared to the previous UPA government’s 126 aircraft deal.

Comprised of 141 pages the CAG report 32 pages were on Rafale deal which stated the finalised deal by the NDA government is 2.86 percent cheaper than the UPA government. The report further stated that out of the 11 Air Force deals in this period, five were finalised during the UPA era and six were finalised during the NDA regime.

Responding to the report Union Minister Arun Jaitley said that the report exposed the lies of the ‘Maha-jhoot-bandhan’
