N S Vishwanathan’s RBI Deputy Governor post extended for one year


New Delhi | N S Vishwanathan was Monday re-appointed as deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for one more year, an official order said.

The re-appointment of Vishwanathan has been approved by The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

He will remain the deputy governor for a period of one more year with effect from July 4 this year, the order issued by the Personnel Ministry said.

His ongoing tenure was to end on Wednesday, July 3.

This development comes after RBI Deputy Governor Viral Acharya had resigned from his post earlier this month.
