Jaipur | The Rajasthan Police has filed a chargesheet against Phelu Khan in a cow smuggling case who was allegedly lynched by a mob in Alwar in 2017 on suspicion of cow smuggling.
The police along with Phelu Khan has also named his two sons Irshad and Arif under sections 5, 8 and 9 while Pehlu Khan is charged under section 6 of the Rajasthan Bovine Animal (Prohibition of Slaughter and Regulation of Temporary Migration or Export) Act, 1995.
The state police have registered two FIRs in the 2017 Alwar Mob Lynching case. One was registered against the mob for beating Pehlu Khan while the other was registered against Pehlu Khan and his family for illegally transporting cattle.
The police, however, had given a clean chit to people accused of lynching based on the statement of the cow shelter staff and mobile phone records. The chargesheet filed by the state police is said to be prepared on December 30 last year, 13 days after Congress government came to power.
Pehlu Khan, a native of Nuh in Haryana was beaten by the Gau Rakhshaks on the Delhi Alwar Highway on 1st April 2017 on the suspicion of cattle smuggling. Khan succumbed to his injuries on April.
