Ranchi Court directs student to distribute copies of Quran

Ranchi |  A Ranchi court while granting bail to a student in an alleged objectionable Facebook post case has asked her to distribute 5 copies of Quran to various organisation.

Granting bail to the accused Richa Sharma, the magistrate judge has directed her to donate 1 copy to the Anjuman Islamia Committee while other four copies to libraries of various school and colleges.

Speaking on the incident, Sharma’s lawyer said,” The Court has granted conditional bail to the Sharma stating that she will gift one copy to Anjuman Islamia in presence of the administration and take the receipt. Similarly, she would have to distribute 4 other copies to various libraries through the local police”.”The Court has asked Sharma to submit 5 receipts in the next 15 days,” he added.

A case was registered in the Pithoria police station against Sharma for posting objectionable post against Islam on Facebook. Since then various protest took place demanding her release.

The court has admitted that Richa Bharti is a student who is not inspired by any religion or political sentiment. After which, the court granted bail for hearing on the plea of ​​both parties.
