Rapper ‘Hard Kaur’ charged with sedition over comments on Adityanath, Mohan Bhagwat

Varanasi | A UK-based Bollywood rapper Taran Kaur Dhillon – popularly known by her rapper name Hard Kaur has been booked on the charges of sedition for her comments against RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

According to a report in the Times of India, the complaint was filed in Varanasi by lawyer Shashank Shekhar under IPC Sections 124A (sedition), 153 (promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion), 500 (defamation) and 505 (intent to incite), and Section 66 of the IT Act.

Shashank Shekhar is an RSS worker.

Hard Kaur had recently uploaded these posts on her Facebook page.

On 18 June, she posted a photo of CM Yogi Adityanath referring to him as ‘Rapeman Yogi’.

Kaur also claimed that RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat was “responsible for all terrorist attacks in India” and that he was a “racist murderer”.

The complainant said that he was “deeply hurt by the comments”.
