TikTok Man From Nashik Who Wiped Nose, Mouth With Money Arrested After Video Went Viral

Mumbai| A 38-year-old man was arrested from Nashik of Maharashtra this week for wiping his mouth and nose with currency notes in a TikTok video. The bizarre video made rounds on the internet while the country is in lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Sayyad Jameel Sayyad Babu, a man from Malegaon in Nashik District was arrested on Thursday.

“After the video went viral, we arrested him. He has been remanded in police custody till April 7 by a court in Malegaon,” an official told news agency PTI.

The total number of coronavirus positive cases jumped to 537 in Maharashtra on Saturday. The state has been constantly at the top in regards to the affected people by the virus that emerged from the wet market of China’s Wuhan.

Total coronavirus cases across India have crossed 2900 on Saturday, the Union Health Ministry informed.

The new virus from the Sars family, named Sars-CoV-2, spreads through the respiratory droplets of people infected by the virus. India has imposed a 21-day lockdown after the cases started going up in India.
