J&K Police dismiss Pak journalists’s claims about internal clash

UNHC

Srinagar | The Jammu and Kashmir Police have strongly dismissed “malicious” content shared by a Pakistani journalist about an internal clash between the CRPF and policemen.

The journalist, named Wajahat Saeed Khan, wrote on Twitter about a clash that resulted in a  policemen killing 5 CRPF personnel.

He wrote,”Rifts emerging among Indian security forces deployed in #Kashmir. A Muslim Kashmiri policeman shot & killed five Indian CRPF personnel in a ‘blue on blue’ attack after they refused to let a pregnant woman by because she didn’t have a curfew pass. Things on edge since that attack.”

However, CRPF strongly refuted the claims, and wrote that the information is “baseless” and extremely untrue.

“As always, all the security forces of India are working with coordination and bonhomie. Patriotism and our tricolour lie at the core of our hearts and existence, even when the color of our uniforms may differ”, they said on Twitter.

The Kashmir Police has ‘rebutted’ the content. They claimed that they will take the matter to Twitter, and urge the organization to block the account.

Tensions have escalated after India revoked Article 370 from Kashmir, which Pakistan has strongly criticised and called it “illegal”.
