Shehzad Poonawalla said while on the one side Congress was opposing Demonetization, on the other hand, Jain was converting black money to white

The scorned Congress leader Shehzad Poonawalla has accused Congress leader Rajesh Jain of converting black money to white during Demonetization.

Poonawalla recently had come out speaking against the party line for its dynastic practices. He also alleged that the Congress Presidential elections are rigged and designed to favour Gandhi family. He also challenged the Congress president-elect Rahul Gandhi for a televised debate where both can put forward their vision for the party.

However, the Congress party brushed aside his allegations. Since then, Poonawalla has been running Dynasty Mukt Congress Abhiyan.

In his latest revelation, he named ex MLA of Congress from Delhi Rajesh Jain. He said Jain was indulged in money laundering and running shell companies.

In a tweet, he said, “Close aide of Ajay Maken in Delhi Rajesh Jain has been arrested for money laundering – were converting demonetised black money to White – ED info -firms recd money to tune of Rs 8.71 crore- whose money was he handling? Was this the reason Cong (dynasty) opposed NoteBandi”

He said that Rajesh Jain is a close aide of Ajay Maken and also handled 2015 polls and 2017 MCD elections for Congress. He said while on the one side Congress was opposing Demonetization, on the other hand, Jain was converting black money to white. Poonawalla asked, “Is this the reason why Congress opposed Demonetization?”

Poonawalla also said that to launder the money Jain created shell companies and used forged documents, fake addresses, fictitious PAN numbers and accounts.

In a scathing attack, he asked whether his action was to ensure the failure of Narendra Modi’s Demonetization or to save the High Command’s money?

In his last tweet regarding the revelation, he said that he will reveal soon whose money Jain was hiding.

New Delhi | Congress Leader Shashi Tharoor on Wednesday while condemning the attack at his office accused BJP of “destroying the idea of India and accepting pluralism”. Tharoor also criticised the recent attack on social activist Swami Agnivesh.

Speaking in Lok Sabha during the Monsoon session, Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor said, “It (attack on office) wasn’t only an attack on constitutionally provided office but a larger attempt by ruling party to destroy the idea of India and accepting pluralism. Swami Agnivesh was also attacked. We shouldn’t stand by as mob lynching and hooliganism rule democracy.”

Earlier Shashi Tharoor who sparked a controversy after his “Hindu Pakistan” comment, earlier today again attacked the BJP-led Centre and questioned whether they are trying to start “Taliban in Hinduism”.

Tharoor while addressing a public gathering earlier on Wednesday in Thiruvananthapuram said, “They are asking me to go to Pakistan. Who has given them the right to decide that I am not a Hindu like them and I don’t have the right to stay in the country? Have they started a Taliban in Hinduism?”

The BJP should take the blame for the “shabby arrangement” at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally at Midnapore in West Bengal where 90 people were injured due to the collapse of a canopy, TMC member Saugata Roy said in the Lok Sabha.

“The prime minister addressed the Kisan Kalyan rally in Midnapore. People were brought in from Jharkhand, Odisha.

During the rally, a tent collapsed leaving 90 people injured, of which 50 were women. BJP had organised the rally. They must take the blame for the shabby arrangement for the prime minister’s rally,” Ray said during Zero Hour.

A make-shift tent collapsed during Modi’s rally in West Bengal’s Midnapore district on June 16, following which the Centre sought a report from the West Bengal government.

The tent was erected next to the main entrance of the rally venue to shelter people from the rain and the incident happened when Modi was mid-way through his speech.

Shivmogga | Former Chief Minister of Karnataka and BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa on Wednesday while criticising the growing demand of the separate statehood of North Karnataka said that such demand will not lead to any solution.

The Karnataka BJP chief further suggested that the current Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) coalition government should work towards the development of the state instead.

Several North Karnataka leaders accused the state government of having done injustice to the region in its state budget and demanded separate statehood came after

Speaking to media, Yeddyurappa said that “The state government should issue a white paper on the internal status of the state. People need to understand the situation of the state. This can explain the last government’s rule.”

“There is no consensus on the separate state demand. Nobody should talk about a separate state. If there is no development then fight and work for the development of Karnataka. A separate state is not a solution. It is wrong if any party claims it,” he added.

Earlier, criticising the state budget Senior Congress leader H K Patil wrote a letter to Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy. He accused the Chief Minister of ignoring the minorities in the budget.

Former Minister Patil stated that people in north Karnataka are disappointed with Congress-JD(S) coalition government’s first budget that had no new plans for the development of the region.

In its first budget, the Congress-JD(S) government announced Rs 34,000-crore farm loan waiver and price hike in fuel, power tariffs and excise duty on Indian-made alcohol.
