New Delhi: Tremors of an earthquake measured 6.3 the Richter scale on Friday hits Afghanistan and also felt in Delhi-NCR and other parts of north India. The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan, 246 km northeast of Kabul, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD).
IMD said the earthquake occurred at a depth of around 190 kilometers after 5 pm. Tremors of earthquake felt in several parts of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh at 5.13 pm, an IMD official in Chandigarh said.

According to Reuters, earthquake tremors were also felt in Pakistan’s Islamabad and Lahore. The earthquake shook buildings in Pakistan, Afghanistan and the northern area of India.
There was no immediate report of any loss of life or property due to the earthquake.
