The Election Commission of India sought a report from Delhi’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) on Mishra’s tweet.
“On 8th February there will be a contest between India and Pakistan on the streets of Delhi,” Mishra had tweeted on January 23.
While speaking to about his tweet he said, “Aam Aadmi Party and Congress have created mini-Pakistans like Shaheen Bagh. In response, Hindustan will face them on February 8. Whenever the anti-nationals create a Pakistan in India, the nationalists’ Hindustan will face them.”
The poll authorities also issued a notice to Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, the BJP candidate from Hari Nagar constituency here, over his campaign song “Bagga Bagga har jagah”.
The issue has come after the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) raised the issue of his song amounting to “suspected paid news”, saying Tajinder uploaded the campaign song on his Twitter account without approval from it.
He has been asked to state within 48 hours why the expenditure for the song shouldn’t be computed and added to his election expenses. Minutes after Bagga’s candidature was announced, the song ‘Bagga Bagga Har Jagah’ was uploaded on Twitter and forwarded on several WhatsApp groups.
Bagga, also a Delhi BJP spokesperson said in a tweet, “Complaints are being given to EC against me as Kejriwal Ji is scared of me. Sanjay Singh has been sent to Hari Nagar 40 times in last 4 days. I am a common man and Kejriwal’s candidate pitted against me has assets worth Rs 50 crore.”
The rap song tweeted by Tajinder Bagga has over 72,000 views and depicts how he is ready to take on the opponents in the upcoming Assembly polls in the national capital.
