Prashant Kishor Says, “Nitish said I am working on the agenda of the BJP. Then he claimed I urged him to merge his party with the Congress. How are both possible?”
New Delhi: On October 9, Poll Strategist Prashant Kishor dismissed claims of merging the JD(U) with Congress made by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. For these claims, he said that signs of aging are clearly showing in Nitish Kumar. “This is called being delusional in English,” Prashant Kishor said. Taking a dig at Nitish he said that Nitish Kumar is scared of being politically isolated.
“First, he said I am working on the agenda of the BJP. Then he claimed I urged him to merge his party with the Congress. How are both possible? If I am working for BJP, why would I speak of strengthening the Congress? And if that is true, then the first statement is wrong,” Prashant Kishor said.
“Nitish Kumar is worried…somewhere he is getting politically isolated. He is surrounded by people whom he can’t trust. On one hand, there is age and on the other, there is this isolation,” Prashant Kishor said.
Prashant Kishor is on his 3,500-km-long Jan Suraaj padyatra.
Prashant Kishor said that Nitish when met him in Delhi back in 2014 after losing polls begged him for help. “After losing the 2014 (Lok Sabha) polls, he met me in Delhi, begging for help. I assisted him in winning the 2015 assembly polls as the chief ministerial candidate of the Mahagathbandhan. Today, he has the temerity to offer gyan (wisdom) to me.”
“You all must have learnt through media reports that Nitish Kumar had called me to his residence about 10-15 days back. He asked me to lead his party. I said it is not possible. I cannot go back on the commitment I have made in return for any post,” said Prashant Kishor.

When enquired about the claims made by Kishor, Nitish said that Prashant Kishor came on his own and was not invited. “He speaks so much but hides the fact that once he had asked me to merge my party with the Congress,” Nitish Kumar said.
When he was questioned that has he offered Prashant Kishor a post, Nitish denied it. He said, “It’s false. Let him speak whatever he wants, we’ve nothing to do with it.4-5 yrs back he had told me to merge with Congress. He has gone to BJP & is acting as per it…”
