In mid-July, Khan and his friend Mohamed Zaid Sami Kidwai and their driver Nicodemus Mwania were said to have been abducted near the Ole Sereni and driven away in an unmarked car.
Reports state that they were last seen when they visited a nightclub in Westlands, Nairobi, on the night of July 23.
According to reports three of them were seen on camera having drinks at the popular joint. They left the venue at around 11.53 pm.
Three hours later, Langata Police was informed about an abandoned grey Toyota Fielder near Ole Sereni Hotel along Mombasa Road. On investigating police found that the engine of the car was on till the time police reached the spot. There was no one around the car.

Given that Khan has been missing for more than 70 days, the families of the victims claim they believe state operatives were responsible for the tragedy and are waiting for justice.
In Kenya extra-judicial killings, and kidnappings are frequent. People looked forward to the new regime because it has been denouncing police harassment while accusing previous governments and state agencies of working hand in glove with similar instances. Investigations are ongoing, and a court trial is scheduled.
