West Bengal CM and TMC chief, Mamata Banerjee, reacting to the suspension of opposition MPs said that The BJP is “afraid” and the suspension of opposition members from Parliament is suppression of the voice of the people. Banerjee called the incident a “mockery of democracy”.
78 members from opposition parties, including the Congress, the TMC, DMK, and the JD(U), were suspended on Monday from the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha for “misconduct” and failure to adhere to the directions of the Chair. Earlier last week 14 MPs were suspended in the ongoing Winter session of Parliament.
