Haiti Prime Minister Ariel Henry has stepped down amidst unrest and mounting pressure within the Caribbean. Henry assumed office in 2021 after the assassination of President Jovenel Moise. The Caribbean Community chair, Irfaan Ali, confirmed Henry’s resignation on Monday and expressed gratitude for his service to Haiti, noting the establishment of a transitional presidential council and appointment of an interim prime minister.
