Maharashtra Gov Announces State Funeral For Ratan Tata

Industrialist  Ratan Tata breathed his last at the age of 86 in Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on Wednesday; Tata will be cremated with full state honours. His mortal remains will be available at the NCPA (National Centre for the Performing Arts) Lawns at Nariman Point in Mumbai from 10:30 am. According to a Tata Trust statement, the remains will begin their final journey at 4 pm.

Maharashtra CMO said in a tweet: “Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced that a day of mourning will be observed in the state today (Thursday 10) in honor of veteran industrialist, Padma Vibhushan #रतन_टाटा . This will be a state funeral as a tribute to Ratan Tata. During this period, national flags at government offices in the state will be lowered to half-mast and no entertainment or entertainment programs will be held. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has also given instructions to cremate Ratan Tata in state ceremony.”
