Congress General Secretary and Leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra filed her nomination for the Wayanad Lok Sabha by-poll on Wednesday. Priyanka Gandhi, alongside Veteran Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, arrived in Kerala on Tuesday.
They landed in Mysore in the evening and made their way to Wayanad later in the night. Priyanka was warmly welcomed by the locals and she even posed for photos with the locals which were later shared online.
Priyanka’s visit was aimed at solidifying her connection with the people of Wayanad before filing her nomination for the seat. The meet and greet with the people showcased her connection with the voters.

During the visit, Priyanka met an ex-servicemen’s elderly mother who prayed for her every day. Priyanka visited their home and received a heartfelt gift, a rosary. Priyanka also met with locals of Wayanad, reinforcing her position in the constituency once held by her brother, Rahul Gandhi.
Priyanka on Wednesday filed her nomination in the presence of CPP chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, and LoP Rahul Gandhi. The Wayanad by-poll will mark Priyanka’s electoral debut.
