Devendra Fadnavis Likely To Be Appointed As BJP In-Charge For Bihar Polls

According to Dainik Jagran, several senior BJP leaders have confirmed Devendra Fadnavis’s election as in-charge of Bihar. According to them, it was decided in the core committee meeting on Thursday.

After an unsatisfying stint in Maharashtra for the second time as a Chief Minister last year, former CM Devendra Fadnavis is supposed to get his first big responsibility in national politics from his party. The Maharashtra politician is very likely to be appointed as the in-charge of the BJP in Bihar assembly polls scheduled this year.

The saffron party is all set to hand over the all-important charge for BJP’s election strategising for Bihar to the 50-year old Fadnavis.

After Fadnavis chaired a core committee meeting of the BJP’s Bihar unit on Thursday via videoconference, the buzz about his appointment has been growing.

According to sources, after the ongoing spat between Bihar and Maharashtra police in Sushant Singh Rajput case, Devendra Fadnavis has been roped in to steer the way for the BJP in Bihar, along with state in-charge Bhupendra Yadav.

According to Dainik Jagran, several senior BJP leaders have confirmed Devendra Fadnavis’s election as in-charge of Bihar. According to them, it was decided in the core committee meeting on Thursday.

For Fadnavis, who served as chief minister of Maharashtra between 2014 and 2019, this will be the first major responsibility on the national stage. His second stint as Cheif Minister lasted only for three days, after which he was compelled to resign. Fadnavis has been looking to settle the score with the incumbent MVA government in Maharashtra. The controversy over the alleged suicide of actor Sushant Singh Rajput and investigation by Mumbai Police thereafter has given Fadnavis an opportunity to corner the state government. Looking at the Bihar connection of this case, and considering the conversation over ‘Bihari pride’ in the state after the death of the actor, Fadnavis’ appointment doesn’t come as a surprise.
