Pune| The agitation of milk producers has been raging for the past several days in Maharashtra demanding an increase in the milk prices. Today, farmers dumped hundreds of litres of milk on the road as a part of the protest. In Hingoli, milk tanker was set on fire by angry protestors. At Parbhani’s Aundha, protesters forced the truck to stop. The police reached the spot and pacified them. Police have detained five protesters in Baramati.

The Swabhimani Shetkari organization has announced a movement for milk-producing farmers. The organization is seeking to increase the price of milk and milk powder. Now the BJP has also expressed its support to this campaign. BJP and Rashtriya Samaj Party activists threw milk in front of the Tehsil office shouting slogans against the Uddhav Thackeray government in Baramati. Five activists here were taken into custody by the police.

Former Minister Presents Milk Kettle To CM

In Indapur, former minister Harsh Vardhan Patil presented a milk kettle to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. He demanded the Chief Minister to increase the purchase rate of milk in favour of milk-producing farmers.

Demand To Increase milk Price In Pune By Rs 10
There is a demand for increasing the price of milk by Rs 10 in Pune. Seeking compensation to the farmers, MP Girish Bapat, former MLA Jagdish Malik gave a bag of milk to Naval Kishore Ram, DM of Pune. Also demanded a subsidy of Rs 50 for milk powder.
