“Fascists in control of our country”, Rahul Gandhi slams over JNU attack

Many Politicians, Parliamentarian, Alumni, and activists have condemned the incident and tweeted in solidarity with JNU students

New Delhi: On Sunday hours after a masked mob viciously attacked students and teachers of Jawaharlal Nehru University(JNU), students across India took to the streets to protest against the horrific incident. Many politicians have reacted to the incident happened in JNU.

In Mumbai, students from across educational institutions gathered at the Gateway of India and raised slogans and some against the ABVP that was allegedly behind the attack and has demanded that the Central government should act against the attack who also damaged JNU property.

On the other hand, students of the Aligarh Muslim University took out a candlelight march, meanwhile, students in Hyderabad held a demonstration. Kolkata’s Jadavpur University and Pune’s Film and Television Institute of India also joined in the protests.

Many Politicians, Parliamentarian, Alumni, and activists have condemned the incident and tweeted in solidarity with JNU students.

Left leader Sitaram Yechury tweeted against the act and said he has visited the trauma center

External affairs minister S Jaishankar condemned the violence in JNU

Former JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar condemned the act.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has also condemned the act and said universities should be safe

Baburam Bhattarai the alumni from JNU has also condemned the incident
