Lucknow | A 23-year-old woman, missing for nearly a week from Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur, has been found in Rajasthan, the police said today.
BJP leader Swami Chinmayanand is accused of assault and abduction of the girl.
The UP police said the woman had been found with a friend and was being taken home. “In the Shahjahanpur episode the girl has been located by Shahjahanpur police in Rajasthan along with her friend. Necessary legal action is being taken,” the police said in a tweet.

Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police OP Singh assured that she is healthy. He said that it seems she went out on her own will to various places.
The police searched for her in many places across Delhi, UP and Rajasthan and used digital surveillance to track her down.
“Police team caught her in Rajasthan. They are bringing her to Shahjahanpur. We would question her in detail,” said Superintendent of Police, Shahjahanpur.
This happened hours before the Supreme Court hearing on the case. During the hearing, a bench of Justices R Banumathi and A S Bopanna asked the state government to inform it as to by when the girl can be produced before the court.
The girl was missing since August 24, after she posted a video on social media that went viral, alleging that she had faced sexual harassment by the hands of some “influential sant-politician”.
Former BJP MP Chinmayanand is the president of her college.
The family then filed a complaint against BJP leader Swami Chinmayanand.
