The ban on plastic will come into effect from today across the state of Maharashtra. The state government, in a notification on March 23, had stopped on the use of plastic to fight pollution caused due to its extensive use. The government had given a three-month window to get rid of the existing stock. Environment Minister Ramdas Kadam had announced this on March 23 to impose a ban on manufacturing use, sale, distribution and storage of plastic materials and thermocol items. The state government has now given 3 months for the disposal of existing stocks throughout the state of maharashtra. This is definitely a good initiative from the BJP government. but Now few citizens are questioning gov’s plan on imposing of plastic ban, they said that rather than resolving a pot hole related issues, the state government is busy collecting fines..So do you think the gov has not paid proper attention to the pot hole issues of Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra?
