Bhopal | In a setback to the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), its ally in Bihar Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Sakhti Party will be contesting on 66 seats in the upcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh.
Kushwaha who is currently upset with the BJP over the seat sharing for the Lok Sabha elections in Bihar was likely to meet BJP president Amit Shah on Tuesday. Kushwaha’s RLSP is demanding 3 seats but the BJP is only ready to offer 2 seats.
Addressing the media after the announcement of candidates for the Madhya Pradesh elections, Kushwaha denied the rumours of resignation from the cabinet. Speaking on the seat allotment in Bihar, the RLSP leader said, “In 2014 we contested on 3 seats which naturally means that we will be demanding 3 seats.”
We have made Bharatiya Janata Party aware of what our party & supporters want for seat-sharing (in 2019 Lok Sabha polls). They said we will hold discussions. Discussions were positive but nothing has been finalised yet: Union minister and RLSP president Upendra Kushwaha pic.twitter.com/u7VqPjW7ne

Earlier the Union Minister triggered speculations of him joining the RJD-Congress alliance after he met RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav hours after the BJP president Amit Shah announced the seat-sharing formula in Bihar. However Kushwaha later called the meeting coincidental.
