Sohail Kaskar, Nephew of Dawood, Escaped, Fled To….

Mumbai: Sohail Kaskar, the nephew of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, has escaped to Pakistan. He was arrested in the Narco-Terrorism Case by US Agencies. He has fled to Pakistan via Dubai. Recently, a call with the voice of Kaskar has been detected, and through that call his location confirmed was Pakistan. Later, American agencies also confirmed so.

The Mumbai Police were in touch with US agencies that had held Kaskar in a narco terror case. According to Mumbai Police officials, Kaskar was wanted in India and the Mumbai Police were in touch with the US authorities to seek his repatriation. His voice was recently heard during an intercepted conversation by the Indian agencies. The conversation confirmed that he has fled to Pakistan.

According to sources, there was a coordinated effort between Mumbai Police and the US agencies to seek the repatriation of Kaskar. Though Kaskar does not face any specific charges in India, he was on Mumbai Police’s radar to track the whereabouts of Dawood Ibrahim. Kaskar was an insider of the D-Company and his extradition to India would have helped the probe agencies to gain an in-depth understanding of the operations of the D-Company.

Kaskar is the son of the fugitive don’s younger brother Noora Kaskar. Noora died in Karachi in 2009 due to kidney failure. There were reports that Noora was shot and died of bullet injuries but Dawood Ibrahim later presented his death theory due to kidney failure.

In 2018, Mumbai Crime Branch has revealed that Noora had differences with Don and eventually wanted to go against the ISI and start his narcotics operations from the Middle East.

Sohail had fled India when he moved with Dawood Ibrahim, Noora, and other uncles to Karachi in the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan after the 1993 Mumbai serial bombings.

He lived with the family in Karachi’s Clifton area – by the early 2000s, he had begun handling the narcotics and weapons business for gangs that spanned Europe and the Americas, from the Middle East to Africa. Sohail ran the gang’s narcotics business and was apparently also involved in supplying arms and ammunition to terrorist organisations.
