Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi began a three-day official visit in Singapore on Thursday (May 31) at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
The PM seems to be a hit amongst the masses there because as soon as he arrived in Singapore, he was welcomed by the Indian community with full enthusiasm and warmth.
PM Modi and his counterpart will attend a business event on innovation and entrepreneurship at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre on Thursday, according to a press statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where they will address topics related to social impact and how they can work towards making changes in health, education, water and agriculture.
Later, Prime Minister Modi will have a round-table conference with CEOs over dinner. Thirty top business leaders of Singapore will participate in the conference. On Friday, he is scheduled to visit the Arjuna’s Chariot and the Istiqal Mosque. He will then go to the Indian Heritage Centre, where he is expected to launch a platform to bring Indian artisans and craftsmen to showcase their work to support rural livelihood.
Prime Minister Modi is currently on a three-nation tour to Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. The aim of the visit is to enhance India’s relations and engagements with all the three countries, which forms ASEAN.
