Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram said that PM’s announcement of Rs 20 lakh cr package, roughly 10% of GDP is like ‘a heading and a blank page’.
New Delhi| On Wednesday, former finance minister P Chidambaram reacted to PM Narendra Modi’s announcement of releasing Rs 20 lakh crore as an economic stimulus package for the nation amid the COVID-19 crisis.

Former Finance Minister Chidambaram explained why he didn’t react yesterday.
Yesterday, PM gave us a headline and a blank page. Naturally, my reaction was a blank!
Today, we look forward to the FM filling the blank page. We will carefully count every ADDITIONAL rupee that the government will actually infuse into the economy.

And the first thing we will look for is what the poor, hungry and devastated migrant workers can expect after they have walked hundreds of kilometres to their home states.— P. Chidambaram (@PChidambaram_IN) May 13, 2020
