Colorado Court Disqualifies Trump From Holding Presidential Office

Former US President Donald Trump has been disqualified from Colorado’s 2024 presidential ballot due to his connection to the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack, according to a historic 4-3 ruling by the state’s Supreme Court. This marks Trump as the first presidential candidate in U.S. history barred under the Constitution’s provision against those involved in ‘insurrection or rebellion.’ While impacting the March 5 Republican primary, the ruling may influence Trump’s status in the November 5, 2024, general election.
