Serum Insitute of India CEO Adar Poonawalla had announced yesterday that it is reducing the price of Covishield for states to Rs. 300/dose for the states as a humanitarian gesture.

Amidst the disparity in procurement prices, several shortages have been reported in many cities with uncertainty looming large for the 18+ vaccine drive starting May 1. This has led to calls of ramping up production capacity from the manufacturer’s end.

India recorded 3,79,257 cases and 3645 deaths in the last 24 hours.
