Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury Terms New Criminal Laws โ€˜Draconianโ€™

On Tuesday, West Bengal Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury criticized the replacement of the Indian Penal Code and Code of Criminal Procedure as โ€œdraconianโ€ laws. During a press conference in Kolkata, he decried the laws as inhuman and passed dictatorially, highlighting concerns such as unjust punishment for accidents and complications in matters like marriage, calling them anti-people. Chowdhury also criticized the expulsion of 141 MPs to facilitate the passage of these bills.
