The US is the worst coronavirus-hit nation in the world with more than 600,000 confirmed cases and over 32,917 fatalities.
Washington| As the world is fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, casualties at the worst-hit US reached 32,917 on Thursday, as per data by Johns Hopkins University.
This is the highest daily death toll yet with a marked increase of 4,491 deaths as of 8:30 pm on Friday in the past 24 hours. But the figure likely includes “probable” deaths related to COVID-19, which were not previously included.
This week, New York City declared it would add 3,778 “probable” COVID-19 deaths to its toll.
As of Thursday night, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had recorded 31,071 coronavirus deaths, including 4,141 “probable” virus deaths.
Trump on Thursday evening stated plans to resume the US economy, letting each state’s governor “to take a phased deliberate approach to reopen their individual states.”

President said that more than 3 million tests for COVID-19 had been done and that scientists are soon going to delivering an antibody test to ascertain if a person has previously been infected with the virus.
Globally, the total number of COVID-19 cases has climbed above 21.57 lakh while fatalities have gone up to 1.44 lakh, as per data from Johns Hopkins University.
