New Delhi| As the global Coronavirus toll increases to touch 5,00,000, G20 nations announced that they will inject $5 Trillion in the economy to counter the slowdown induced by the Coronavirus crisis. In the emergency online meeting, they also pledged to build a “United Front” to fight the pandemic. The fund was pledged to counter the Social, Economic and Financial Impact of the pandemic, the statement read.
After the emergency summit, the G20 nations issued a statement in which they called for combatting this pandemic through a transparent, robust, coordinated, large-scale and science-based global response in the spirit of solidarity.
“We are strongly committed to presenting a united front against this common threat,” the statement read. “The magnitude and scope of this response will get the global economy back on its feet and set a strong basis for the protection of jobs and the recovery of growth,” the statement said.
