Don’t Travel To Kyiv: Indian Embassy In Ukraine

New Delhi: The Embassy Of India in Ukraine has advised Indian Nationals in the country not to travel to Kyiv and stay put in safe locations, amid Russia’s attacking Ukraine.

Taking a dig at the current state of affairs, amid a Russian invasion as “highly uncertain”, the embassy has appealed to all the Indian nationals in Ukraine to remain calm san stay safe. Fresh guidelines have been issued by the embassy.

“The present situation in Ukraine is highly uncertain. Please maintain calm and remain safe wherever you are, be it in your homes, hostels, accommodations, or transit,” the Indian embassy in Kyiv tweeted.

“All those who are traveling to Kyiv, including those traveling from western parts of Kyiv, are advised to return to their respective cities temporarily, especially towards safer places along with the western bordering countries,” the advisory said.

Earlier this week A special Air India flight from Ukraine carrying nearly 240 passengers has landed in Delhi, news agency PTI quoted. The Boeing 787 aircraft left Ukraine’s capital Kyiv at 6 pm and reached Delhi around midnight.

More than 20,000 Indian Nationals are stuck in different parts of Ukraine.

US President Joe Biden has stated that the attack on Ukraine by Russia is ‘unprovoked and unjustified.’

On Thursday morning, Russian President Vladimir Putin had announced a ‘military operation’ on Ukraine. They called on soldiers there to lay down their arms, defying Western outrage and global appeals not to launch a war.

Vladimir Putin has made this surprising statement on television and has expressed his intentions clearly.

“I have decided on a military operation,” he said shortly before 6:00 am (0300 GMT) in Moscow, as he vowed retaliation against anyone who interfered.

He also asked the Ukraine military to lay down its arms.

His statement came after the Kremlin said rebel leaders in eastern Ukraine had asked Moscow for military help against Kyiv.
