Google Confirms Gmail Is Down Globally

They have received these complaints and will be providing a follow-up by 1.30 pm, the Google Apps status page has said in an update.

According to reports from some users, Gmail, the email service of Google, seems to be down globally. The number of complaints has been increasing since around 10 am, with over 2000 reports so far, the Down Detector also showed.

Though the problem presently seems to be global, there are still some who have said the platform is working for them.

They have received these complaints and will be providing a follow-up by 1.30 pm, the Google Apps status page has said in an update. We are continuing to investigate this issue. We will provide an update by 8/20/20, 1.30 pm detailing when we expect to resolve the problem,” the message says.

Though the reason behind the glitch is not confirmed yet, but many users have complained that they are facing lot of trouble due to the issue. Some said that they are unable to send mails, while some claimed that the problem is with sending attachments, which are uploading very slowly.

Considering that majority of the people are working from home during this period and mails are one of the few ways of communication, the platform is important for most users right now.
