Time Magazine editor-in-chief Edward Felsenthal wrote on social media – “Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have tried to change American history.”
Washington DC| Time magazine has announced Person of the Year for 2020. This time, America’s President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris have been chosen for the prestigious title. The Cover page of the Magazine features Both Biden and Harris with a title – “Changing America’s story”. Since 1927, Time magazine has been choosing Person of the Year. This year’s Person of the Year race also featured American Physician Doctor Anthony Fauci, the Racial Justice Movement and President Donald Trump.
Biden defeated Donald Trump in the presidential election held last month. Elections have been certified in all 50 US states. Despite this, Trump is accusing him of rigging the election and not conceding defeat.
Change in American politics
The magazine has given both of them this title in the politics category for bringing a change in American history. Time’s editor-in-chief Edward Felsenthal wrote on social media – “Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have tried to change American history. It showed that people have more power to share their empathy. Both have presented the vision of healing the wounds of the world in sorrow.”

Obama and Trump have also been Person of the Year
This is not the first time that Time has chosen a person holding Presidential post for Person of the Year. Earlier in 2016, Trump was selected after winning the US presidential election. Similarly, Barack Obama and George W. Bush have been two-time Person of the Year. However, both of them were selected by the magazine after winning the presidential election. Last year, in 2019, Sweden’s activist Greta Thunberg, who worked for climate change, received this honour.
From 1927, Time began to choose Person of the Year. In 1998, it began its online polling for the first time. So far this honour has been awarded 108 times. It is given to an individual, group, organization or movement for his / her works.
