OIC asks India to rescind its action revoking Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir

The OIC asked the Indian government to “rescind its unilateral illegal actions and reiterate its commitment to abide by the relevant UN Security Council Resolutions.

New York: On behalf of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Kashmir contact group, criticized the Indian government’s actions there calling on India to “rescind” its actions revoking Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir Saudi Arabia joined Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Niger to issue.

On September 25, after a ministerial meeting on the sidelines of the UNGA, the group asked Indian government to “rescind its unilateral illegal actions and reiterate its commitment to abide by the relevant UN Security Council Resolutions, provide assurances that it will not change the occupied territory’s demographic composition and not allow non-Kashmiris to acquire property or residency of its human rights violations repeal its draconian emergency laws, and withdraw its heavy military presence”.

Earlier too, the OIC has commented on the Kashmir issue. However, MEA India has chosen to not react to the issue. The OIC is the same group that had invited India as the special guest earlier this year. Former External Affairs Minister Late. Sushma Swaraj had attended the meet.

While Pakistan is trying to internationalise the Kashmir issue, India has made it clear that Kashmir is India’s ‘Internal’ issue.
