Pakistan Army Has People With Close Ties To Al-Qaeda: Obama Says In New Book

Obama, in his book, wrote that ISI has direct and close ties with Al Qaeda and the Taliban. It has been using these terrorist organizations against India and Afghanistan.

Washington DC| Former US President Barack Obama has claimed that there are many assistants of Al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations in Pakistan’s army and this fact is no longer hidden from anyone. Obama made this comment in his book ‘A Promised Land’. Obama has also clearly stated in the book that if the operation to kill Osama bin Laden was reported to Pakistan in 2011, this mission would have failed.

Obama in this book wrote, “It is an open secret that the Pakistani army has al Qaeda, Taliban and other terrorist organizations helpers. We all know how dangerous this alliance can prove to be. Their intelligence agency (ISI) has direct and close ties with Al Qaeda and the Taliban. The ISI has been using these terrorist organizations against India and Afghanistan.

Biden was against the operation to kill Laden

US Seal Commandos killed Osama bin Laden on 2 May 2011 in the city of Abbottabad, Pakistan. Then it was Obama who told the world about the operation on TV in the morning. Obama made a shocking revelation in the book about this mission. According to him, the then Vice President Joe Biden (now President-Elect) and Defense Minister Robert Gates did not agree with the secret operation planned to kill Laden.

Killing Laden was a risky operation

According to Obama, the operation to kill Laden was not easy. There was a lot of risk involved. Because the Pakistani army had a base in Abbottabad and Laden’s base was protected. “But, we had strong intelligence and plan. I asked my team to prepare the final plan for Red,” Obama claimed in the book.

Pakistan could not be trusted

Obama wrote – “We had options, but there was also a risk. Diplomatic relations were also at stake. If this plan was leaked then it could have failed. Therefore, very few people were informed about it. We have only thought that Pakistan will not be included in any plan. The intelligence agency there weakens the government of Afghanistan. Conspiracies are hatched against India.”

Obama further writes – “The first option was to destroy the compound by an airstrike. The other option was the commando team entered there and killed Laden. We chose the second option and decided that the Commandos would return to the hideout soon after the operation.”

Hillary Clinton suspected whether the operation will be successful

Obama says – “Hillary Clinton was then foreign minister. The ratio of success of this operation is 51-49. Biden also felt that if the mission failed, it would have serious consequences. The defence secretary was also in favour of airstrike. After the operation, I spoke to many foreign leaders. However, negotiations with Asif Ali Zardari, who was then President of Pakistan, were difficult. However, he congratulated me and reminded me of how his wife Benazir was killed by the terrorists.”
