Pakistan detains JeM Chief Masood Azhar’s relatives

New Delhi | Two days after India handed over a dossier containing details of Pulwama attack, Pakistan has detained 44 members of proscribed organisations including Mufti Abdul Rauf Asghar, brother of JeM chief Masood Azhar and Hammad Azhar, who is Masood Azhar’s brother-in-law, the Pakistan Interior Ministry has said.

The news was announced by Pakistan Interior minister Shaharyar Afridi in a press conference. He also said the dossier handed by India contained the names of Mufti Abdur Rauf and Hammad Azhar. The terrorists have been detained for two weeks until evidence is brought up against them. Failing to do that, they will be further released.

Clearing speculations that this move came after a lot of international pressure, officials said that the action was not taken due to any pressure whereas was a part of National Action Plan.
