After Prime Minister, UK’s Health Minister Tests Positive for Covid-19

Health Minister Nadine Dorries has tested positive for the deadly virus. The Conservative MP said that she’s been self-isolating at home.

London| After United Kingdom’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson tested positive for coronavirus, now it’s Health Minister Nadine Dorries has tested positive for the deadly virus. The Conservative MP said that she’s been self-isolating at home.

Labour MP Rachael Maskell said that she’s been told to do the same since she came in contact with Dorries.

The Department of Health informed that Ms. Dorries showed initial symptoms on Thursday- the very day she attended an event hosted by PM Boris Johnson.

The UK has now 382 positive cases of coronavirus with 6 casualties. The latest casualty was a man in his 80s with underlying health conditions.

Meanwhile, a 53 years old British woman has been the first person to die because of the Covid-19 infection. She passed away in Indonesia, the local media informed.

It’s yet not clear if the woman, who has had severe health conditions, died due to infection of coronavirus.

” We are supporting the family of a British woman who has died in Indonesia and is in contact with local authorities,” said The Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

Meanwhile, the UK government is coming out with its first budget, amid the rising fear of the impact the coronavirus will have on the UK’s economy.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak has said, ” NHS will get whatever resources it needs during the crisis as well as a temporary coronavirus business interruption loan scheme to support small and medium-sized businesses.”

The Bank of England had earlier announced the emergency cut in interest rates from 0.75% to 0.25% because of the impact of coronavirus on the English economy.
