Sheikh Hasina wants help from China, Russia, India, Japan over Rohingya crisis

Dhaka: Bangladesh Prime Minister Haseena Shiekh on Monday said that Bangladesh wants help from China, Russia, India, and Japan to resolve the Rohingya crisis.

As per media reports, the Bangladesh PM said: “We expect China, Russia, India, and Japan to play a major role in resolving the crisis.”

“Myanmar should act in accordance with the agreement they have signed with Bangladesh (regarding the repatriation of the Rohingyas),” she added.

During her meeting with Gustavo Meza-Cuadra, President, UNSC delegation at her official residence she urged the international community to continue mounting strong pressure on the Myanmar government to take back their Rohingya nationals from Bangladesh, the report further said.

Since 2012 Myanmar has driven out two-thirds of its roughly 1.5 million Rohingya population denying the Rohingya citizenship and accompanying rights.
