Trump Says US Past “Peak Coronavirus” Even As Death Toll Rise

The US is the worst coronavirus-hit nation in the world with more than 600,000 confirmed cases and over 28,000 fatalities.

New York| The US has made it through the worst of new coronavirus cases recent data suggest said President Trump on Wednesday, as he seeks to reopen the pandemic-hit economy.

Trump said in the White House Rose Garden at the daily coronavirus task force briefing that the data suggests that the US has passed the peak of new cases. Hoping that it will continue Trump hoped for making great progress.

However, the task force didn’t share the data they used to reach this assessment.

When asked about the reason the US accounted for such a higher proportion of the global death toll of 136,908, President blamed other countries of lying about their mortality rate.

President said that more than 3 million tests for COVID-19 had been done and that scientists are soon going to delivering an antibody test to ascertain if a person has previously been infected with the virus.

“These developments have put us in a strong position to finalize guidelines for states reopening,” Trump said.
