She had also stated that her YouTube channel had 5000 subscribers and used to get great views but claimed that she was getting less of them when the company started “filtering” her videos.
The woman who opened gunshots at the California headquarters of YouTube at three people before she killed herself has been identified as a frequent user of the platform and was angry with the company because of their “dictatorial” new policies.
The woman has been identified as Nasim Aghdam aged 39 years shot two women and a man with a handgun when she barged into the headquarters of YouTube in San Bruno today as per the reports of an international media.
Her identity was first confirmed by NBC and was a rigorous YouTube user who had recently made a rant online against the new policies of the company and for “censoring her videos and not paying her”.
As per certain sources of the LA Times, an investigation being conducted by the police is trying to locate a connection between Aghdam and the complaints about YouTube meddling with traffic and suppressing videos that have been posted to a website by someone with the same name. The source also added that the investigation is as of now is in its preliminary stages.
Initially, the officials of the law enforcement stated that the shooting was being probed as a domestic clash after early clues suggested that the woman had shot her boyfriend too.
In a video that was posted by her back in the month of January Aghdam ranted about the content that she had posted to be “discriminated and filtered”.
She had also stated that her YouTube channel had 5000 subscribers and used to get great views but claimed that she was getting less of them when the company started “filtering” her videos.
