The Bhartiya Janata Party-led Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra, which comprises the BJP, CM Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, and Ajit Pawar-led NCP, are brainstorming over seat-sharing for the ensuing Assembly elections in Maharashtra, according to an NDTV report.
The report further suggests the BJP may contest between 140 and 150 seats in the 288-member assembly. The Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena will likely contest 80 seats, and Ajit Pawar’s NCP may fight 55 seats; three seats will likely be allotted to smaller parties.
Currently, the BJP has the support of 102 lawmakers, and the NCP (AP) has 40, with Shinde-led Shiv Sena having 38.

Meanwhile, the MVA, the state’s opposition bloc, comprises Congress, Sharad Pawar-led NCP, and Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, recently bagged 30 seats out of the 48 in the Lok Sabha Polls.
Congress being the single largest party with 15 seats, UBT bagged 9, and the NCP(SCP) won 8 out of the 10 contested.
