New Delhi | Alleging West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on playing politics during the Cyclone Fani, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Mamata Didi refused to talk to me on this issue.
Addressing a rally in West Bengal’s Tamluk, PM Modi said, “I tried to speak to Mamata Didi regarding the cyclone situation twice but she did not respond. She is least bothered about the people of Bengal. I wanted to take stock of the situation with the administration but arrogant Didi refused it too.”

Criticising to Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal, PM Modi said,”In West Bengal, people have to to pay Trinmool Tolabazi Tax. No one dared to challenge this tax and it only emboldened TMC. But now it won’t last long in Bengal.” He further added that In West Bengal those who hail Jai Shree Ram are put behind the bars.
PM Modi further estimated that these steps would be attributed to her vote bank politics. She is bound to lose in these elections.” Earlier West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that except for damaging a few huts, cyclone Fani did not cause much havoc in West Bengal.
According to PMO sources, PM Modi wanted to do a review meeting for West Bengal and the Govt of India had written to the state about a review meeting of PM. However, the state government has replied that the govt officials are busy with election duty and hence the review meeting should not be held.
