New Delhi | BJP president Amit Shah today responding to the controversial ‘Khaki Underwear’ remark made by Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan against BJP candidate Jaya Prada demanded an apology from the SP-BSP alliance.
Speaking in a rally, Shah said, “Not only Azam Khan, but both Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party should apologize to the crores of women in our country.”
Addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh Rampur during his election campaign, Azam Khan was caught on camera saying,” People of Rampur, people of Uttar Pradesh and people of India, it took you 17 years to understand her reality. But, I could recognize it in 17 days that she wears a khaki underwear.” The video of Khan’s purported speech was also doing the rounds on various social media platform.
Responding to the remark, Jaya Prada speaking to media,” It isn’t new for me, you might remember that I was a candidate from his party in’09 when no one supported me after he made comments against me.I’m a woman&I can’t even repeat what he said. I don’t know what I did to him that he is saying such things.”
