New Delhi | Responding to the controversial ‘Khaki Underwear’ remark by Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan against BJP candidate from Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur constituency Jaya Prada, Union Minister Sushma Swaraj question Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh’s silence over the issue.
Referring the incident as Draupadi’s Cheer Haran, Swaraj termed Mulayam Sigh Yadav as ‘Bhishma Pitahmah’ and appealed him to not remain silent on this issue. Taking on Twitter, the Union Minister wrote,” Mulayam Bhai, You are the father figure of Samajwadi Party. In front of you, Draupadi is been disrobed in Rampur. Don’t make the mistake of being like silent like Bhishma Pitamah @yadavakhilesh Smt.Jaya Bhaduri, Mrs.Dimple Yadav.

Addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh Rampur during his election campaign, Azam Khan was caught on camera saying,” People of Rampur, people of Uttar Pradesh and people of India, it took you 17 years to understand her reality. But, I could recognize it in 17 days that she wears a khaki underwear.” The video of Khan’s purported speech was also doing the rounds on various social media platform.
Responding to the remark, Jaya Prada speaking to media,” It isn’t new for me, you might remember that I was a candidate from his party in’09 when no one supported me after he made comments against me.I’m a woman&I can’t even repeat what he said. I don’t know what I did to him that he is saying such things.”
Meanwhile clarifying his remark, Azam Khan said, I was referring to a person in Delhi who is unwell, who had said, ‘I came with 150 rifles&I would have shot Azam if I had seen him.’ Talking about him, I said, ‘it took a long time to know ppl & later it was found that he was wearing RSS shorts.’
